LIR 52015 weekly - Naihwaz & PerthroR

I have learned a new aspect of Naihwaz this past weekend - that of the sacred fire, the fire created to purify the offerings, to request aid and blessings, to accept the bounty that comes. In my mind, this translates as making the fire, and the objects, sacred. Which leads one to wonder, just what does sacred mean?

I think, I feel, sacredness is connected to that feeling of Nirvana, of accomplishment, of awe and wonder and joy so deep it's difficult to express. And isn't that what we feel when we finally reach home, after a journey? When we finally accomplish our goals? When we finish a great book, or hear an amazing song, or see a beautiful science theory?

We feel the moment is sacred. We may even feel the item or event is sacred. Hopefully we also feel sacred ourselves, for that moment.

What if we could be in that moment all the time? What if we allowed ourselves, our movements, our thoughts, our truths to be constantly awesome, amazing, and sacred?

There is no need for bells or whistles, for jewelry, outfits, or feasts. Just an acknowledgement, a silence, an acceptance of the tools, the moment, the transition. A knowing that it is, they are, we are, sacred. Because, whatever we have and however we have practiced, these moments will never be again. And we have given of our best.

So this week Naihwaz asks, what is sacred within our hands, within ourselves here at the end of this transition? What is celebrated, now that we have arrived on our personal shore? Can we, further, allow the tools and gifts and moments to just be, simple and sacred (in whatever fashion you consider sacred), without trying to make them more, or less, than they are? Can we allow ourselves to be, in every moment, sacred, purely ourselves, no adornment necessary?

PerthroR chimes in with a thought. To really celebrate, feel, allow the awesomeness of this moment, perhaps wait before running out to celebrate with your clan. Allow that moment of silence, of pure personal appreciation. Allow yourself to rest, explore the tools, the shore line, the end of your journey. We have worked on and from our truths for a very long time. This may only be one shoreline, one storm, one situation or emotional discovery on our path, but we deserve to appreciate it for ourselves. Not to dilute it with the party, the celebration.

We deserve to make the moment sacred with the silence and fullness of our regard.

Granted, PerthroR may also be a question, or an answer to a different question. Even without the desire to give each moment its own sacred space in time, this may be a good weekend to just sit back and breath. No big parties, no rush to connect with your clan. Allow yourself and your body (and your tools and your thoughts) time to process, settle back into shape.

As I type this, I realize sometimes we float a long time between the end of the storm and settling into shore. It's not that the distance is long, or even that we're adrift. It's simply that it takes that long to process all that has happened and apply it to the new world we are in.

So, allow yourself the sacredness of the moments it takes to celebrate your scientific discovery, to appreciate all the amazing work you have done, to replay the song or reread the book, to find where you are and what you have. There is no rush to connect with your clan. They will always be there. And it can be easier to find the sacred truths in ourselves, if we each have the space to process all the awesomeness personally, before muddying it with the opinions and perceptions of others.

Who are also uniquely sacred.

Before I rush off to do the upload the next thing, I just have to say. The sacred part I will enjoy practicing.

The not partying, gathering, celebrating with my clan? Not so easy. I'll have to think about that one. I mean, yes, not only would it help me process, it would help me catch up on all the things I want to DO with all the insights and tools and...

Let me put it another way. I often think, when I encounter Naihwaz, that it's saying yes, you can make do with these few [insert tool names here]. But all it says is you'll have what you need (and conversly, what you need is what you'll have.)

Long pause for a perusal of what I have - when it comes to ideas, projects, happy to do's and necessary to do's - I have a lot. Insert expletive of your choice lot. And another party next weekend. It does make sense to settle in, buckle down, physically process some of my to do list.

but.

But?

"But I really want to see the Avengers on the big screen," she whispers. I wonder if I can tell myself it's self care? Will I believe it? It could even be my truth.

I hope you have a great week!

LIR 71414 - No Rune

Yes, No Rune again today.
This could mean any or all of the following:
1) Universe still busy; you’re still good
2) I, Lila, am too focused on my own stuff to interpret correctly for the general reading.
3) today is a day for individual readings, choices, mentality. In which case, please check out my offer on fiverr.com. *g*  http://www.fiverr.com/unicallen/rune-your-life-for-5-days

********************************************************************
Oh my aching...!

Have I thanked you lately for your readership?  I get multiple page views a day, so it feels I am talking to someone.  Which helps.  A lot.

Yesterday was quite interesting.  First, before I pulled the rune (or lack thereof,) I had a thought...  "today, it's about the question."  That was followed by, "Which sounds personal.  So focus on the general first, and we'll work on the specific second."

Which I did.  And I/we received the above reading.

Then, I did my personal reading.  The question of the day was Naihwaz.  Which I interpreted as, "What do you need?"

The immediate reply was, "money."

And oh my goodness, why is that so hard to say out loud?  (Or type in public, whichever.)  Money money money money money money money money money.

I want money.  I need money.  Love it.  Own it.  Admit it.  I LIKE money.

I immediately want to go into a long discourse about how I like money for more than just it's spendability, which is true.  I like dispensing money.  I like being a cashier and giving exact change.  I like being a bookkeeper and  putting the numbers in their spot.  I just like money.  But, for these purposes right here, it's not about the appreciation of money as a source of energy on its own.

It's about having money.  A source of income.  More inflow than outflow.  Money money money.  "When I am a rich woman, ya da dida dida dida dida dida dida dum."

As I type this, I realize it might not be the most reassuring post.  I have recently started applying to banks - because I want to combine customer service with money handling.  And of course these posts are public record, which  means I might appear a little less stable than the preferred bank teller should be.  *wry grin*.  But, in an interview I hope I would say the same thing.  I like money.  I respect it.  And, just like energy, I would never be able to take or use money that isn't mine.  That's just... wrong.  Dirty.  Heavy.  Bad karma.

But I would be quite happy to earn my own money while being the caretaker of others'.  Bring it in!  Pay my bills, buy fun stuff, and still have money!

Of course, there are other options for money to flow into my life.  I have 3 books out there waiting for purchase.  I have fiver gigs.  I am quite open to grants and donations.  And my brain teems with ideas for earning and using and keeping the flow of money going around and around.  I need money.  I want money.  Money will help me feel happy.

But....  yesterday was not JUST about money.

What do you need?  Getting ready for voice lessons, I  prepared my music, my checkbook, and the items I would need for errands afterward.  I tried to download a music file so I could practice my song on the way.  I also wanted a set of warm up exercises, but I couldn't find anything easily transferrable to my phone.

I left the house knowing I had forgotten something.  I went back and checked the locks, refilled the water, checked my phone.

When I arrived, I didn't have my music.

I berated myself for a minute.  But being without my music actually led to an interesting lesson in storytelling, something very important to me.  And I received some exercises.  I have what I need.  And moreover, what I want.  Which included reassurances about both my teacher and myself.

Even the store had the swimsuit items I "needed".  It took a little hunting, but they were there.  As soon as I decide what I really wanted.

And I wonder, with excitement and anticipation, what others things did I do yesterday, like filling in my Linkedin info, or searching more banks for jobs, or answering emails, or keeping the doors open, which will provide what I want and need?

I do hope your day was as inspiring and personal!  Now, let's see what's happening today.

what choices will lead to happiness & success?
which sacrifices are worth it?

LIR 71014 - Naihwaz

Breathe!
Relax.
Believe… you will have everything you need,
when you need it.

********************************************************************************************

Oh, boy, did I need this advice yesterday.  It was one of THOSE days (or could have become one).  I won't say that everything which could go wrong did, because it didn't.  And I did a good job of keeping myself from going to that mental place.

But...  I did have to keep reminding myself to breathe and believe.

Everything did work out, and it even finalized some plans of mine, and once I relaxed and paid attention, I felt better about the work I was doing, but...  I did have to keep reminding myself.

Remember, it is your truth & your needs that will keep things flowing the way you want.
Yes, everyone is important, but you are the ONLY one with your experiences.
I hope you have a great day!

LIR 42414 - Naihwaz & Hagalaz

Sometimes, we find the biggest transformation is at the end of the storm.  The person who started the journey is not the person who ends it, and does need room and time to accept her or his new self.

***************************************************

I'm still working on this one, it seems.  I spent some time with a person who made me wonder if I used to be like that...  and this is neither a positive or negative, because all aspects have a person can be enjoyable and then annoying...  or perhaps am i still like her in some aspects.  I'm learning that my reactions to people tell me a lot about myself.  And working the retail has brought a lot of old patterns back to the front.  And some of them make me happy; some of them don't make me happy; and some of them feel like simple survival skills.

I know it's easy to look at all the situations around us and say "why me?"  And I think the point of this reading is that answer - because we are unhappy with who we are.  I want change, so I embark on a huge path of change.  And at the end, I decide which aspects I keep and which I throw away.  Because no one can truly take anything from me without my permission.  So the changes, the huge sweeping transition brought on by the storm of Hagalaz, is only a suggestion.  Only the strong things survives the hailstorm, but nothing stops me from running right out and replacing the old destroyed things I miss.

So when I reach the end of the storm, when I wash up on the beach with Naihwaz - the tools I need to survive - they are the tools of my choosing.  The tools and patterns, memories and thoughts I have chosen to cling to, to drag with me through the change.

We are the mistresses & masters of our destiny.  Whether we choose to put our lives into the hands of a Divine Being, or whether we choose to maintain an iron control, we are in charge.  We Choose.  So at the end of the storm, to really achieve the change we desire, we must allow ourselves, our patterns, our judgements, our realities to change as well.

No new advice; you're doing well.
You have all your pointers, there's no more to tell.
Breathe, expand, to thyself be true
And every choice will be right for you.

I hope you have a great day!

LIR 3414 - Naihwaz

The objective is in sight and all the necessary tools are in your possession.  To achieve your goal, all you have to do is keep focus and keep moving forward.

*************************

I had difficulty with this one, because the question became, which goal am I trying to keep in focus?  There are sinus issues, which make me want to sleep and heal; and there are work goals, which need energy and focus; and there are the moving goals, which require some planning and exertion.

So I'll admit, this reading didn't feel that helpful.  I could have used more clarification on which issue to focus on.

111613 - Naihwaz

Another swell in the storm.  Remember your personal goals, and don't get distracted by irrelevant what ifs.  We will have everything we need.  Everything.

*******************

This applied for me two ways, today.

I did a house cleansing for a friend today.  I do them occasionally, but not so often that I have a definite prep & pack routine.  So, naturally, I found myself wanting to run around grabbing and buying and scouring for things I MIGHT need for the cleansing.

In that situation, Naihwaz definately meant "you will have what you need; if you don't have it you won't need it."

Now, when you're working off-site, that can still be tricky.  Because you have to listen, when going through the supplies, to yourself.  You do have to have enough items, the right items: scent, stone, herb, pen, ruler, paper, clay, whatever... when you travel away from your storage space, you have to make choices about what to take with you.   So one must listen.

But, one listens with intent and consciousness, NOT with grabbing everything in sight "Just in case".  And still, there's most likely going to be a "oh, I wish I'd grabbed..." So one makes do.

Which leads us to the part two of my Naihwaz today... afterward.  "Don't get distracted by irrelevant what ifs."  It is so easy, after doing any work, to devalue all I've done by judging and critiquing and "Oh, I should have."  This is harmful, to self and to all those who've participated in, or benefited from, the work.  There is a difference between thinking, "next time, I would like to try this" and "Oh, I should have done this." The should haves are irrelevant.  The past is.

So.  Coming and going, Naihwaz helped me through something I enjoy doing, but can easily ruin for myself by panic before and judgement behind.

Thank you, Naihwaz.  *G*

I hope you have a great day!

111213 - Othilo, Naihwaz

It is ok to gift today, be it knowledge, energy, stuff.  A helping hand now means when you're in need, you will have more than enough.

***************

My difficulty with today's reading was the number of opportunities to give.  From charity calls to doing a little extra for someone close to hand, the day was full of moments of guilt.  "Was that the person I was supposed to help today?"

But.  When I step back and look at that statement, it just feels slimy.  Gifting something is not an obligation; if it feels like one, then I'm not actually freely giving.

Also, just because the stones say, doesn't mean I HAVE to do it.  Maybe the reading would have been, for me, "There will be many opportunities to give... knowledge, energy, stuff."  But, as always it is my choice what I give and what I retain.  Just because there's a little extra energy or time today in no way devalues our own choices.

Looking back at today, there were moments I  easily stepped in or stepped away, sent out my thoughts to others, gave of time or energy.  That was gifting.

I hope you had a great day!

-Lila

ps - and a side note.  Naihwaz may also have meant, for me, "Yay.  The the end of the project is in sight. Keep going!  You can relax when you're finished. You have plenty of other projects clamoring for your attention, so don't stop now!."

101713 - Naihwaz in water; Uraz in Spirit

Ride out the emotional storm holding firmly to your ideals.  Others may be looking to you for guidance.  Truth to self is the only tool you need.

**************************************
Hello to you!

Yes.  Today was a storm of emotions.  As I went through the day, I wondered how many of you were going through the same "make it stop!" roller coaster.  Even the movie we watched, "The Croods", took me through an emotional roller coaster.  May it be blessed.

I forgot the part of being true to self.

I did remember the part about others looking to "you" (and thus me) for guidance.  It didn't exactly help, for when I become this emotionally mazed, I'd rather be locked away where I can't hurt anyone.  And where anyone else cannot add to the turmoil.  But, Uraz is foundation.  Uraz is strength.  So, I let myself be, I kept moving forward, and I even tried sharing some of my tools.

My current favorite, when I feel the want to hit someone, is to actually hit something.  I beat the couch with a thick swimming noodle.  The first time I did it, I was shocked by the physical & auditory outpouring.  (I may have written about it in here already.)  These days, I use the couch technique to help pull out the emotion,  so it doesn't sit in my shoulders and stomach and neck.  I usually scream when beating the couch, also.  Like the word expelled with moves in martial arts, only much less focused and more Banshee.

It is also satisfying to dismantle a box of glass with a mace, but that is not a technique I would share with young persons, nor, since one should do it outside, is it as conducive to screams of rage.

I planned to have "anger management" time today, and share this technique.  And when the time came, all I wanted to do was pretend I hadn't talked about it.  I was sure they would prefer I forgot also.  But, because of the Uraz rune (bless you very much also) I did it.  I told them about it, offered each one a noodle, and then I yelled and beat the couch.  And yes, that was very hard for me, to do it in front of others.

That seemed to be the theme for the day.  To experience the feelings, to allow others to see what was experiencing, so they could see me work through it.  "Be an example," was my mantra for the day.

I am grateful to know this emotional trip is almost over.  While I believe in myself, one of my truths has to do with enjoying the moments.  And the moments today were all necessary, all small steps to fulfilling goals, but, perspectively, I'm not sure I would have chosen to put them all in one day!  Ah well.  Learning learning learning.  And finding out more about what I want to do and what I really don't want to do.

So, that was my day, in a cryptic nutshell.  The runes were spot on, and provided guidance, though I can't say much for the support.  Knowing tomorrow is better just means I learned from today.  It doesn't mean the roller coaster stops.

And, being true to myself, I need to negate that sentence with this one.  The roller coaste may not stop.  Life is life after all.  But the truth of ourselves IS all the tool we need.  Because that is how we look back on the day, pat ourselves on the back, and are satisfied that we did our very best.  Tomorrow is better because of all the work we did today.

So.  I hope you had a great day.  And I hope tomorrow is even better!

-Lila

PS - there will be no posted rune reading for the 18th, as it is the full moon.  *G*

We're at the end of the storm.  Keep hold of what you hold precious and focus on your goal.  We will make it with everything we need!

_________________________________

Many days later: I didn't get back to this one on the night of the reading.  As without, so within.  The physical storm of rain and rain and more rain did finally abate.  Then I had to deal with a personal physical storm - repelling a sinus infection.  I am still at the confusing stage of wondering if it's okay to take a sick day when I am self-employed.

I did focus on the "we will make it through".  Looking back, I might have been more comforted if I'd remembered the other part.  "Keep hold of what you hold precious."

But my goad, battle cry, and all around stock phrase is currently: There are no mistakes!  So, no looking back.  Looking forward.

It's interesting how many different situations can feel like storms.
