LIR Weekly 7815 - AlgizR

No, there is no guardian angel, energetic provider, or silent partner for this situation. Do you want there to be?

As the Earth goes through its metamorphosis, and as we all go through our own transformational storms, it becomes more and more important to ask for what we want. Especially for those of us who carry a sense of personal responsibility like a shield. After all, there are plenty of times we don't want anyone shielding us, sending us that little extra bit of light or energy, treating us (we feel) like a child or precious cargo. Grrr.  Right? Right.

And the Universe says, excellent.

But that means that when we do need that little extra helping hand, communication, or shield, we have to ask for it.

Do you know the awesome thing about asking for help? You get to be specific about what you want. Sometime people offer help, but their skills do not match your needs at all. Their energy has nowhere to go, no place in your situation. But when you ask for help, you get to say - I need this extra surge of energy at this time, to accomplish this specific task. And sure, I have time to hang out and have pizza afterward.

So, if you're facing your situation and wondering if it's moving along so well because of an extra little push from the Universe, the answer is no. It's all you, baby!

But if you're wondering why your situation isn't improving, or growing, perhaps it's because you have given all you can give, and it's time to ask for help.

This week AlgizR is saying, there is no extra energy guarding or guiding you. So, how do you feel about that?

********************************

I pull a rune for myself to warm up before doing other readings. And my rune for the day was Algiz (not Reversed.)

Algiz was pointing directly at me, instead of out into the Universe. Which I interpreted as me being the one giving the energy, instead of the one receiving it.

Now, if you're like me, you believe that we are all "the Universe". You feel The Universe is made up of all the bits of matter and energy that permeate its space. So we all get to direct what happens, have a say, make a request. And we are all tools of the Universe also, to fulfill others' requests. To be the guardian angels and energy providers to those who need it.

Sometimes we do these things physically - like stopping when we see someone with a flat tire, or providing direct energy work. But we don't have to get physical to be the answer to a prayer. After all, not all of our needs are physical, are they? Finding that second wind; walking safely to an outlet store; surviving Black Friday sales unscathed. These are all things we would attribute to outside assistance - whether you call it God, or angels, or luck. And we can provide that for others, just by sending our energy out into the world, to answer a request for help. To be used as needed.

Our connections are awesome and vast and amazing, if we just let them be.

One of my favorite passages is from a book called Paladin of Souls by Lois McMaster Bujold. A woman in having a conversation with her God, and she asks why it took so long for her prayer for help to be answered. And the God replies that he directed many people down that road, but there was only one who chose to go the full distance.

Which is awesome. We get to choose what we do. We get to choose how we help! And if we feel the call to help, we don't need to run out and find someone with a flat tire . We can simply send the a connecting energy, to refuel the person who is asking for assistance.

Which, given the way time and space work, could be ourselves in the future. Or the past. Hmm.

I hope you have a great day!

LIR 41615 - No Rune / Ogham Ngetal (Reed)

What part of your quest, journey, situation requires planning? and which part can just be done?  Today might be a good day to get those plans on paper, so when it's time to go you can just go.

*****************************************************************************

Yup, another No Rune pull, so I switched to Ogham. Not to negate my need to practice, but I feel there should be more to offer. I don't like having nothing to say. *G*.

I actually expected my work yesterday to focus on the budget we're trying to create - which is a lot like making a day plan. There's the ideal, and then there's the actual. Did I know I spent so much money on tea? Well, yes, yes I did. Happily, I have learned I can't drink more than 1 kind of tea at a time, and the market is close by, so I don't need to shop on the contingency plan (what if I want this?!). I can shop on the truth plan (this is what I want today.)

The truth plan also works for checking books out of the library, buying  shoes, and in a very broad sense, buying cars. In fact, which so many things quickly available for most of us, there's little need to look further than the next few days when it comes to the daily objects in our lives.

But I digress. I had expected to budget (and boy, am I looking forward to the day where money doesn't rule everyone's life. It will be so wonderful to just be, and do, as desired without having to plot and plan and take 40 different things into account.) Instead, I ended up finishing another project which needed to be done today - but it would still be considered paperwork. So that was pretty cool. I'm really glad I focused, bore down and got it done yesterday.

I think I don't like to budget, really. It is constrictive thinking. Limiting. It clashes with my beliefs in constant, abundant energy.

Hmm. I have to wonder off and write an article now, which I hope will be in my Newsletter (by which I mean, I hope I actually get the Newsletter sent this moon.)

I hope you have a great day!

LIR 41015 Fehu & IngwazR

What energy is feeding you? Is it enough or too much?
Is it in accord with the energy that fuels your passion?

What seeds haven't blossomed yet?
Do they need more energy, more time?
 Have you even missed them?

*********************************************************************************************

BEST. HAIRCUT. EVER.  and Oh, I didn't think of that.

So, Fehu was about my haircut appointment at Spellbound, I expect. Not necessarily about the haircut itself, but about where it was. About expanding my community (because Spellbound is a metaphysical store as well as a hair salon; and the stylists are Wiccans. And practicing Witches.) I do enjoy the restful company of being among people just doing their thing, exercising their power joyfully.

And Fehu was probably a bit about staying up until 1 in the morning writing about the experience (See Meanderings blog.).  It's interesting that pouring my thoughts and ideas out onto a "blank" page brings me great joy. I love writing. Possibly as much as I love singing. Actually, possibly more.

Wait. No judgment. No comparison. It simply is. I have so many possibilities for awesome happiness just among the seeds I have chosen to focus on, is there room for more?

But, yesterday I also visited with the next generation of my family (or some of it). And yes, I have missed them. Their exuberance. Their unique perceptions.  Their expressions and reticence. Happily, I have made plans to spend some time with them. So, yeah, there'd best be room for more.

When you're happy you need less sleep right?

I hope you have a great day!

Do you have something someone else wants?

Do you wish to part with it?

Do you really need to look outside yourself for something you need?

*********************************************************

I agree. It is the first step - looking outside of myself for an answer. For assistance. For sustenance. For assurance.

Well, it's the second step. The first step seems to be having a full blown meltdown in order to realize something needs fixing, changing, transitioning. For my happiness.

And I have some pretty awesome friends and family; they tend to help even when I'm not sure what I need. Or want. Which can confuse the issue sometimes. Because the second step, really, is being able to know what it is that's needed.

I suppose there are many answers, many possibilities, many options. It just depends on how far we each want to go. Do we want the duct tape fix? The gorilla glue? The paid for repair? Or the replacement? Or, do we want to just get rid of the issue all together?

And so we ask the Divine. We ask professionals and people we respect. And people who have known us. And we forget to ask ourselves.

The interesting thing about life, about the universe, about reality, is that it is all just one big spiral. "As within, so without. As above, so below." And the fix for the "little thing" is often the same fix, or focus, for the big.

So, my realization, my answer to my supplication of "what?!" is "consistency." In the big things - like how I celebrate and connect with the Divine on a daily basis; to the little things - like taking my supplements regularly; to the in-between things - like how to spend my energy on the things i wish to produce.

Consistency. Not flying all over the place in planning and thinking and wondering.
Consistency. Stick to point one. Get this part finished, done, practiced, or discarded. Then moving on.
Consistency. Find which parts are consistent (say the act of doing a daily reading) and which parts are fluid (rune readings vs ogham card readings for example.)
Consistency.

Interestingly, it was talking about it out loud which helped me arrive at this reminder. But, the answer didn't come from without. It came from within.

Though I did just say, as within so without. So I guess it's the same thing.

Gods bless connections!

I hope you have a great day!

PS - that part about the Ogham was true. I didn't have space to do a rune reading today, so I did a reading with my Ogham deck instead. Stay tuned!

LIR 32415 - Gebo

Things may not always look equal, because we each have different perceptions of what is hard. But today, if you're wondering…

Are things balanced? Yes.  Every aspect is supporting the project or relationship equally.

How much should I contribute? An equal amount. No less; certainly no more. Let every part or person in the project / group contribute their own share.

******************************************************

Hello. I'd like to welcome me back to the daily rune readings. I have very high hopes this will become more consistent in posting again.

The balance thing has been relevant to me today in the application of energy to different, concurrent projects.

Part of my struggle through the transformational stages of these last few years has been in answer to that age old question, what do I want to be when I grow up? Because, ta da, I'm finally in the stage of stepping into the personal responsibility and leadership roles I attribute to grown ups, and yet, I still have no solid answer to the question "What do you do?" And a reluctance to give up any of my joys, or to slight one skill by lauding another.

What do I do? I write. I sing. I read runes. I teach. I coach. I dance. I wash. I plant. I pay. I budget. I drive. I think. I practice. I am.

So, when it comes down to how to plan my day - and I have learned how to merge the ideal plan with what I actually do (yay me!) - to which aspect of all my "do's" do I give the most time?

And the answer is, to none. As they are all things I want to do, they are all things that deserve equal attention. Yes, even the dish washing. And the dancing to Pink & Eminem. And the writing these posts. And the household administrative duties. And. And. And. I have already winnowed out all the things I don't have as much passion for. What is left requires & deserves all of my focus at the time.

It is reminiscent of juggling I suppose. But my focus does not multi-task. True, I can sing while I wash dishes, or crochet while I'm watching tv, but only one of those things is getting my full, cognitive, attention.

So, if my stitches are even, please don't ask me about the plot of the latest NCIS episode.

I hope you have a great day!

LIR 71414 - No Rune

Yes, No Rune again today.
This could mean any or all of the following:
1) Universe still busy; you’re still good
2) I, Lila, am too focused on my own stuff to interpret correctly for the general reading.
3) today is a day for individual readings, choices, mentality. In which case, please check out my offer on fiverr.com. *g*  http://www.fiverr.com/unicallen/rune-your-life-for-5-days

********************************************************************
Oh my aching...!

Have I thanked you lately for your readership?  I get multiple page views a day, so it feels I am talking to someone.  Which helps.  A lot.

Yesterday was quite interesting.  First, before I pulled the rune (or lack thereof,) I had a thought...  "today, it's about the question."  That was followed by, "Which sounds personal.  So focus on the general first, and we'll work on the specific second."

Which I did.  And I/we received the above reading.

Then, I did my personal reading.  The question of the day was Naihwaz.  Which I interpreted as, "What do you need?"

The immediate reply was, "money."

And oh my goodness, why is that so hard to say out loud?  (Or type in public, whichever.)  Money money money money money money money money money.

I want money.  I need money.  Love it.  Own it.  Admit it.  I LIKE money.

I immediately want to go into a long discourse about how I like money for more than just it's spendability, which is true.  I like dispensing money.  I like being a cashier and giving exact change.  I like being a bookkeeper and  putting the numbers in their spot.  I just like money.  But, for these purposes right here, it's not about the appreciation of money as a source of energy on its own.

It's about having money.  A source of income.  More inflow than outflow.  Money money money.  "When I am a rich woman, ya da dida dida dida dida dida dida dum."

As I type this, I realize it might not be the most reassuring post.  I have recently started applying to banks - because I want to combine customer service with money handling.  And of course these posts are public record, which  means I might appear a little less stable than the preferred bank teller should be.  *wry grin*.  But, in an interview I hope I would say the same thing.  I like money.  I respect it.  And, just like energy, I would never be able to take or use money that isn't mine.  That's just... wrong.  Dirty.  Heavy.  Bad karma.

But I would be quite happy to earn my own money while being the caretaker of others'.  Bring it in!  Pay my bills, buy fun stuff, and still have money!

Of course, there are other options for money to flow into my life.  I have 3 books out there waiting for purchase.  I have fiver gigs.  I am quite open to grants and donations.  And my brain teems with ideas for earning and using and keeping the flow of money going around and around.  I need money.  I want money.  Money will help me feel happy.

But....  yesterday was not JUST about money.

What do you need?  Getting ready for voice lessons, I  prepared my music, my checkbook, and the items I would need for errands afterward.  I tried to download a music file so I could practice my song on the way.  I also wanted a set of warm up exercises, but I couldn't find anything easily transferrable to my phone.

I left the house knowing I had forgotten something.  I went back and checked the locks, refilled the water, checked my phone.

When I arrived, I didn't have my music.

I berated myself for a minute.  But being without my music actually led to an interesting lesson in storytelling, something very important to me.  And I received some exercises.  I have what I need.  And moreover, what I want.  Which included reassurances about both my teacher and myself.

Even the store had the swimsuit items I "needed".  It took a little hunting, but they were there.  As soon as I decide what I really wanted.

And I wonder, with excitement and anticipation, what others things did I do yesterday, like filling in my Linkedin info, or searching more banks for jobs, or answering emails, or keeping the doors open, which will provide what I want and need?

I do hope your day was as inspiring and personal!  Now, let's see what's happening today.

what choices will lead to happiness & success?
which sacrifices are worth it?

LIR 62914 - Fehu

Time to let your job, your passion, your life enervate you.  The purpose for all that hard work is happiness.  Today's a good day to enjoy it.

***************************************************

As usual, I remembered one part of the reading, and not the rest.  Which is fine.  I assume there are different relevant parts for different people.

Yesterday, I was tired.  And counting calories.  So the reading, for me, took on the simple meaning of let your job feed you.  After some thoughtful time in the reading portion of my work, I went into retail.

On one hand, it did feed me.  we were busy busy (end of a coupon, a register on a fritz).  So busy people didn't take their breaks at the appointed time.  So busy, I didn't even notice I was very hungry until I made some silly little mistake.  (Quick analyzation, attention wandering, oh!  I'm grumpy.  Oh.  I'm hungry.)  So, as I had to wait for my break, I tried to let the activities, and flow of movement and work, even whatever extra energy there was hanging around feed me and energize me.

I assume it worked, as my mood did not deteriorate.  And even better, a co-worker who is highly exuberant came in for the end of my shift, so her up beat mood helped me reach one also.

But when I finally reached home, I was soooooooooo tired.  And achy.  All plans to do anything productive were out the window.

This morning I reread the post and realized I did do what it suggested.  For what do I expend energy at the retail store?  For money.  What does the money get me?  A beautiful comfy place in which to rest and watch tv and relax. I didn't realize it at the time; I was busy being grumpy about the pain and deciding to go to bed early, but I did partake of what my work brings me.  I did use the benefits I and my Significant Other provide.  Enjoy may not be the best word, but I certainly am glad of it now!

LIR 2314 Perthro & MannazR

Is the energy you're putting out there what you want to put out there?  Is your influence in line with your truths?

***********************************************

Well, the last two days, I have been pretty UNenergetic.  Perhaps the cold (which is extreme in my perception) has tapped the ancient urge to hibernate.  So I cannot say I brought this reading much to mind.  In fact, my influence has been missing the last two days - at least in doing the readings - because I was so focused on whether I was actually warm enough to get out of my chair.

I still desire to do the readings.  I enjoy them.  But I seem to be stumbling over (or playing with) the delivery of the readings.  Video camera on tripod, phone camera, quick snapshot; with intro or summation; wordiness of written reading... the question may come down to, how much work do I want to do related to the readings?

The answer may be, not that much.  Hmm.  So, I may be pondering this reading a little while longer.

111213 - Othilo, Naihwaz

It is ok to gift today, be it knowledge, energy, stuff.  A helping hand now means when you're in need, you will have more than enough.

***************

My difficulty with today's reading was the number of opportunities to give.  From charity calls to doing a little extra for someone close to hand, the day was full of moments of guilt.  "Was that the person I was supposed to help today?"

But.  When I step back and look at that statement, it just feels slimy.  Gifting something is not an obligation; if it feels like one, then I'm not actually freely giving.

Also, just because the stones say, doesn't mean I HAVE to do it.  Maybe the reading would have been, for me, "There will be many opportunities to give... knowledge, energy, stuff."  But, as always it is my choice what I give and what I retain.  Just because there's a little extra energy or time today in no way devalues our own choices.

Looking back at today, there were moments I  easily stepped in or stepped away, sent out my thoughts to others, gave of time or energy.  That was gifting.

I hope you had a great day!

-Lila

ps - and a side note.  Naihwaz may also have meant, for me, "Yay.  The the end of the project is in sight. Keep going!  You can relax when you're finished. You have plenty of other projects clamoring for your attention, so don't stop now!."
