LIR 42815 Weekly

    Hagalaz
Eihwaz R

EihwazR is about connections, bridges, the middleman standing between two (or more) worlds.
This week, Eihwaz asks us to contemplate the connections in the situation.
Does there need to be a bridge or a mediator? Could the situation be helped with an extra step, a translation, a primary overseer?
Does the situation have a bridge that is not needed? Would the various groups in the project do better to work on their own piece before trying it as a whole?  Can the training wheels come off?
And the final question: Are you being asked to be the bridge? Do you want to do it?

Hagalaz is the storm, the change, the traumatic change.
It being spring, Hagalaz could symbolize an actual storm or natural event which causes change - even a small storm can blow away an unneeded piece of paper. Though we may have thought we really needed that paper!
It could be an emotional or spiritual or situational storm - because something as simple as a haircut can be a traumatic change. Which is redundant. Change is Traumatic, even when we're prepared.
Perhaps Hagalaz is a question. What could stand to be shaken up? What change in routine, diet, clothes, place, could help release something we no longer need?

EihwazR and Hagalaz could be connected - the decision about the connections or bridges will effect a change.

Whatever the situation, the question, or the answer, remember your truth. It may be different from everyone else's, but it is just as right, for you. And that, standing for yourself, can be the biggest, most traumatic, most simple act of them all.

Welcome to the transitional post!

Though I suppose the next one will be the actual transitional one.

This month at least, I am finding it difficult to analyze the week previous. I'm very busy looking ahead. So I have changed the style of the post for the next coming week, and I am putting my observation and thoughts about the reading in when I write it.

It's interesting how things transition, isn't it? And is this just for this post, this month? Or for moving forward?

I can tell you, quickly, before I move on, that there were storms in nature last week, as well as a huge shift in myself. I went to the Threshold Choir International Gathering, and in reviewing my actions, it rather feels like I crammed all my years of growth and change into 3 days.

It felt like an Up With People gathering, so on day 1, my automatic defenses rose to people pleasing, bright and shiny Lila. By day 2 (with some deep breathing and permission to remember it is only practice) I had brought myself to vocational Lila - still a little unsure how to present herself directly to people, but much more comfortable exploring her options and space. And then, glorious day 3, (despite the misread as described in the last post), ah, day 3 was the first formal appearance of Lila Unic Allen, Happiness Coach, Story Teller, & World Creator. When I spoke, I spoke from my truth. When I listened, it was without judgment. It felt pretty awesome. She stayed for day 4.

As for the worlds to straddle, or the bridges to burn - I'm not sure. There are so many aspects it could apply to. So, I'll just keep moving forward.

I hope you have a great week!

LIR 42414 - Naihwaz & Hagalaz

Sometimes, we find the biggest transformation is at the end of the storm.  The person who started the journey is not the person who ends it, and does need room and time to accept her or his new self.

***************************************************

I'm still working on this one, it seems.  I spent some time with a person who made me wonder if I used to be like that...  and this is neither a positive or negative, because all aspects have a person can be enjoyable and then annoying...  or perhaps am i still like her in some aspects.  I'm learning that my reactions to people tell me a lot about myself.  And working the retail has brought a lot of old patterns back to the front.  And some of them make me happy; some of them don't make me happy; and some of them feel like simple survival skills.

I know it's easy to look at all the situations around us and say "why me?"  And I think the point of this reading is that answer - because we are unhappy with who we are.  I want change, so I embark on a huge path of change.  And at the end, I decide which aspects I keep and which I throw away.  Because no one can truly take anything from me without my permission.  So the changes, the huge sweeping transition brought on by the storm of Hagalaz, is only a suggestion.  Only the strong things survives the hailstorm, but nothing stops me from running right out and replacing the old destroyed things I miss.

So when I reach the end of the storm, when I wash up on the beach with Naihwaz - the tools I need to survive - they are the tools of my choosing.  The tools and patterns, memories and thoughts I have chosen to cling to, to drag with me through the change.

We are the mistresses & masters of our destiny.  Whether we choose to put our lives into the hands of a Divine Being, or whether we choose to maintain an iron control, we are in charge.  We Choose.  So at the end of the storm, to really achieve the change we desire, we must allow ourselves, our patterns, our judgements, our realities to change as well.

LIR 42714 - No Rune

No new advice; you're doing well.
You have all your pointers, there's no more to tell.
Breathe, expand, to thyself be true
And every choice will be right for you.

I hope you have a great day!

LIR 22214 Hagalaz & UrazR

Old foundations, old rules, crumple under your new truths.  As the truths fulfill your happiness, it's time to create a new foundation.

****************************************************

The foundation that seems most crumpled for me is that of the routine.

A routine helps, in my mind.  It helps establish a pattern to follow.  It helps make some decisions about who what when and where.  One often unconsciously develops a routine, at work, at home, when the same things need to be done over and over again.

In the last 24 hours, the routine seemed to be what I was focusing on.

As a work at home person, the routine has been most difficult to establish.  Especially when, spiritually, one is often advised to go with the flow.  But, I want to get things done.  If I worked outside of the home, I would have a routine of before work and into work and at work and after work activities.  Some would be flexible, like eating times and whether I really want to put on make up for work.  And others would not be flexible.  Like the time I show up for work.

So, my new foundation seems to be basing itself on establishing a work schedule.  I was late today.  Which means some things will be rescheduled (going with the flow.)  But others will need to be done, which means I'll be working late.

Just like everyone else who takes their job seriously.

It may feel like there's a lack of nurturing today.  Is it a push to keep you moving & working?  Or is it a request for more self-care?  Your truth, your choice.

I hope you have a great day!

111113 - Hagalaz

Another step in the chain of transformation today.  Another beginning or ending.  Breathe and keep moving...  We're used to this, right?

************
We must be used to it, because I stayed pretty even-keeled today.

Today's transformations seemed mostly to do with schedules, for me.  Things I planned to do today I had to reschedule for another day; schedules were also changed for tomorrow & the next day, which necessitated changes for the day after that.

And today also talked to me more about listening to myself.

I needed to go to the bank today.  I kept telling myself to skip it, but I couldn't think of a reason why.  I thought I might be procrastinating.  Nope, turns out, the bank was closed today, due to Veteran's day.  And I totally missed ALL of the clues I was given: like multiple flags on school lawns; gov't workers home from work; many many hints from my inner self to just keep driving and NOT stop at the bank.

So.  Working on that communication transformation.  More.
Or, not so much working on it as thinking about how to work on it.

Shrug.  No harm was done & it made for a good laugh.

I hope you had a great day!

101613 - Hagalaz in Spirit (on the edge.)

Take a moment to notice all the little things going on around you.  The feasting animals, the falling leaves, the relationships ebbing & flowing.  This is life.  Every breath is a moment of change.

**************************

Hi Honey, sorry I'm late.  I've been very caught up in redoing my character database for my fantasy (alternate history) world.  Trying to simplify was too much work.  Starting over isn't as frustrating, for I have learned a few new things.

Anyhoo...  Today's reading.  Giggle, shrug, well...

Humorously enough, during the meditation before the rune cast, I was looking outside the windows and revelling in the variety of nature... the squirrels and birds eating and thriving, while the leaves colored and drifted.  (leaves don't fall.  They drift, la, la, la.  Sometimes they are blown.  But I don't recall seeing a leaf fall.  Branches fall, oh my aching foot, yes.  Leaves, no.)

So whenever I had a few minutes today, I tried to remember to contemplate the outside.   But as I was thinking about what to write, I came up with this...

The importance of those little changes is that they affect us, whether or not we manage to notice them.  All the bits and pieces of change and drama and celebration going on out there, they cause that ripple effect that leaves us sitting in our kitchen wondering what the heck happened to our cheerful mood.  We can't blame us or them or anyone else.  We can just be aware.

Of course the reverse is true also.  Everything we do ripples out to complete strangers in alternate universes.  Should this paralyze us?  Should we change what we're doing?

Not unless we want to.  Happy or sad, good or bad, everything affects everything else.  The necessary tool is simply to be aware of the fact.  What can you take responsibility for?  And what not?  And, again and always, what makes you happy?  For that is all (in my opinion) a person can take charge of.

I hope you had a great day!  Except for one moment of "What the???!!!!"  I did.

Life in Runes 92513

Hagalaz.  Algiz.  LaguzR.

A little energetic transformation to shift things.  A little emotional energy to random strangers.  A little bit longer to wait before the take off.

You can send some of the extra enrgy out to others; it may help you feel like you're accomplishing something in this next "now what!" moment.

------------------------------------

Well, if you're following these posts with bated breath, waiting for the next daily adventure, you'll notice I did not comment on my life last night.  It was one of "those" days.

I'm not sure which aspect of life LaguzR was referring to, but Hagalaz sure swept through in the afternoon.  Every expectation of how the afternoon would go, went.  Right out the window.  I don't think I stopped moving.  But the hardest part was actually taking the deep breath and moving through it.  It would have been much nicer to just sit and see if it all went away.  Interestingly, the two things I had been definitely planning did happen.

And as for Algiz, well, I just sent good thoughts to every car I saw.

So, yesterday was all right.  I hope you had a great day!
