LIR 9915 Weekly - Perthro

Perthro is about outside influences - they flow toward us; they happen all around us. And we have no control over them.

Perthro this week is specifically about influences from the past… more like ripples. The butterfly's wings have flapped, the pebble has dropped in the pond, and the effects are now reaching our shores. We still have no control over it.

Perthro, as you can see in the picture,
kind of resembles a cup, lain on its side. In this case, we can think of ourselves as the cup. The energies, ripples, wing flaps, are rolling towards us, rushing to fill the cup. And, again, we have no control over these energies.

Until they are ours.

Once the energy, the influence, the result of whatever past action rolls into your personal bubble and becomes part of your reality, you have plenty of choices!

How are you going to act, once you know what's going on? Are you going to block the energy, neutralize the energy, accept the energy, use the energy, pass it on?

Let's look at it this way. A box arrives at your doorstep. This is the outside influence. Obviously, it's a past influence, for the box was sent (or ordered) a few days ago. You decide to open the box. Or not. You decide to bring the box into your home. Or not. You decide to keep what's in the box. Or not. You decide to use what's in the box. Or not.

Let's say it's clothes in the box and, in your opinion, they're too ugly to wear. Do you wear them? Return them? Donate them? Stuff them in the back of your closet? Pull out the sewing machine, the bedazzler, and the dye packets?

Let's say, in your opinion, the clothes are perfect! Do you wear them? Return them? Donate them? Stuff them in the back of your closet? Pull out the sewing machine, the bedazzler, and the dye packets?

Stuff is going to come in. We have no control of the influences, ripples, responses, energies flowing toward us. We can control what we receive, what we keep. And we can definitely control what we do with the gifts that arrive upon those ripples.

********************************

This one was difficult to interpret. There's so much trepidation, for me, around other people's choices. I expect part of this is because I have learned a distrust of the human powers' that be. After all, any good story has to have something to struggle against, doesn't it? And oh, the bad guys we have created for our heroic journeys.

So I think I am going to practice changing that perception. For example, I know I'm not the only hopeful, bright-eyed, optimist who believes in unicorns. I know many people have at least one of those traits.

I also know that many people strive to become a power for the express purpose of affecting the world in a positive, hopeful, unicorn friendly fashion.

So I am going to practice believing in those energies, the bright shiny energies. If the government, and the world, is made up of humans (which, yes, is also a belief system), then i am going to make my "Vote" in the energetic world and support the positive. I am going to believe in fairies and other supposed mythical creatures like honest politicians and CEO's who work for and with their employees. And by this belief, this support, I am going to help create more!

And, yeah, I am going to color all of the ripples that come my way with my rainbow marker even before I decide what to do with them.

It sounds flighty, I understand. That's because I do like sparkles. But, really, what it is, is love. A deep, connected with everything, accepting everything, awesome love. It does require practice to stay aware of (hence the rainbow markers), but it's the most influential power I know.

I hope you have a great and positively influential week!

LIR 62214 - PerthroR

Look. It’s not about the outside influences. It’s not about what others want or think is right. It’s not even about fate, destiny, or what “should” be.
It’s about what we want. It’s about what makes us happy. Each, individually, uniquely happy.
So. What do you WANT?

************************************************************************************************************************
Yes, at first, this reading does (did?) seem like a continuation of the last posted reading, about taking time to decide what really works.  Weighing influences, in a fashion.  And I thought, "Okay.  Today I walk into the world with my head held high and my goals in sight and I will not let anyone sway me from my path."
Except.
Except.
What about when i want to be swayed?  When I want to be influenced?  When I want to stop for a few minutes and hang out with friends?  What if being under the influence of friends or family is what I WANT?
Ah, I realize as I sit here.  But that's still my choice.  My influence.  My responsibility and my decision.  It's like answering the body's need for calories.  I get to choose what form the calories take.  I even get to choose, to some extent, when I partake of those calories.  I find a balance.  I do not (anymore) eat the whole pint of ice cream just because the first half of the carton tasted so good.
Oh yes.  I do want to sit with friends in a bar all afternoon and talk.  Or sit on the couch and watch a marathon of Lost Girl or Elementary or Agents of Shield.  But, I also want to do that indulging with a happy heart.  With all of my brain.  With the knowledge I am working with myself, not in spite of myself.
So it's really not about the outside influences.  It's about the inside ones.  My responsibility.  My choice.  My WANT.  And my need.  Feeding my body, resting myself when it's time.  And getting up and working some more when it's time.  Stepping forward and trying to fulfill what I want when it's time.
Because that time is now.

LIR 62314 - Isa

Today is a good day to isolate yourself a little, to stand apart, to shield from other people, outside influences, habits of the past.

I hope you have a great day!

111813 - Perthro, UrazR

We hope to have some outside help today, some spark to move us forward.  So let that line in the sand be movable.  Listen with more than your personal truth.

****************

Right.  Well.  If this is about my computer, my line in the sand ain't movin!

Actually, I still have some studying to do this evening.  I'll be reading Christopher Penzac's book on Shamanish later, so hopefully I will be reading with an open mind  and a willingness to contemplate things which make me uncomfortable.  Because really, it is nice to believe, even for a moment, that I do know it all, and thus I need study and grow and learn no more.

But, well, today is not that moment.

So, actually, you have it right there - the daily reading in action.  My hope for a peaceful, helpful, learning experience... and a situation where I am willing to TRY to read another person's advice before doing the visual equivalent of sticking my fingers in my ears and singing "lalalalalalala".

I hope you have a great day!

101613 - Hagalaz in Spirit (on the edge.)

Take a moment to notice all the little things going on around you.  The feasting animals, the falling leaves, the relationships ebbing & flowing.  This is life.  Every breath is a moment of change.

**************************

Hi Honey, sorry I'm late.  I've been very caught up in redoing my character database for my fantasy (alternate history) world.  Trying to simplify was too much work.  Starting over isn't as frustrating, for I have learned a few new things.

Anyhoo...  Today's reading.  Giggle, shrug, well...

Humorously enough, during the meditation before the rune cast, I was looking outside the windows and revelling in the variety of nature... the squirrels and birds eating and thriving, while the leaves colored and drifted.  (leaves don't fall.  They drift, la, la, la.  Sometimes they are blown.  But I don't recall seeing a leaf fall.  Branches fall, oh my aching foot, yes.  Leaves, no.)

So whenever I had a few minutes today, I tried to remember to contemplate the outside.   But as I was thinking about what to write, I came up with this...

The importance of those little changes is that they affect us, whether or not we manage to notice them.  All the bits and pieces of change and drama and celebration going on out there, they cause that ripple effect that leaves us sitting in our kitchen wondering what the heck happened to our cheerful mood.  We can't blame us or them or anyone else.  We can just be aware.

Of course the reverse is true also.  Everything we do ripples out to complete strangers in alternate universes.  Should this paralyze us?  Should we change what we're doing?

Not unless we want to.  Happy or sad, good or bad, everything affects everything else.  The necessary tool is simply to be aware of the fact.  What can you take responsibility for?  And what not?  And, again and always, what makes you happy?  For that is all (in my opinion) a person can take charge of.

I hope you had a great day!  Except for one moment of "What the???!!!!"  I did.
