LIR 11916 Weekly - Jera

"Do you believe the work is equal
 to the harvest you desire?"

What a loaded question.

If you're like me, the answer seems to be "What work?" With a lot of exclamation points.

Yes, I know the general feel of the harvest I'm working for, believing in, manifesting. I see it in the distance - a cozy cottage with trees and twinkly lights and a babbling brook. My favorite steed munching contentedly in it's own cozy place, and easy connection to all the people I love.
Or a grand store, where I can wake up in the morning and wander downstairs to do my writing in between clients and customers and random people pulled in by the atmosphere. My peeps are everywhere. My favorite steed is there too, and sometimes turns into a leer jet so I can travel to exotic places and write about them for the delight of my soul. There are classes and singing and knick-knacks and a veranda.

I can feel this. I can see it. I know I have the skills to BE it.

But between me and the cottage / store / castle of dreams is a misty expanse of nothingness. Just fog. Thick, heavy, clinging, dragging fog. Like in a video game, where the next part of the map isn't revealed until you finish all the quests on this part of the map.

And I have no idea how to clear the fog. I don't know what quests are due. I am running from screen to screen, pushing buttons and searching trunks, and nothing is working. And I can't seem to access my hints.

So, to answer the question, the work I am doing is NOT equal to the harvest. It seems to have nothing to do with the harvest. It feels like I'm spinning my wheels.

Yesterday a path-partner advised, "Just stop and step away." As in, stop stomping on the gas if I'm not getting anywhere. Stop running from screen to screen. Stop trying to figure out the fog. Quit trying to get across, or through.

Maybe sit down and have a cup of tea. Read a book. Finish my to do list - okay, start my to do list. It may not feel like it's attached to the harvest, but it is work that needs to be done. And there is still work which brings me happiness - like writing, and reading runes, and laundry.

And maybe that's the real answer. Just keep doing the happy. I know it's the answer I'm supposed to say, as a happiness practitioner. It's the answer that resonates, even though I have no idea how it will get me through, over, under, or around the fog. It's the answer I'm resisting because I CAN'T see how it will bring me to my dream.

But wheel spinning , as time consuming as it is, isn't working. It doesn't bring happiness either. And it's wasting gas.

So maybe if I focus on the happiness, the working of it will transport me directly to the next screen.

Because work that brings me joy is the only work that is equal to, worthy of, the twinkly Cottage Store and the Marvelous Steed and My People.

I don't know. It doesn't feel like the whole truth, but it feels like today's step. It'll be interesting to see what happens tomorrow.

I hope you have a great day.

LIR 72314 - Jera

How do you know your hard work will pay off?
Look where you are now! Only you could have made the choices which led to this harvest, these rewards.

It only gets richer, fuller, happier from here.

*****************************

Yes, of course I believe it only gets better from here.  I know this, deep down.  But sometimes the way seems...

...well, it's like Castleville Legends (and yes, I play that game with fervor and dedication.  Mostly.  Rather like the daily rune readings *G*.)  In the game, the area you've discovered is well lit and full of options, but the surrounding areas are foggy.  And sometimes you can see a structure, or a statue, hidden in the mist, but the way the game progresses takes you away from those interesting structures instead of towards them.  And sometimes you become very bored with your current options and you really want to explore more!

You know, because you've done enough levels now, that there is a "logical" progression of steps to be taken.  So when you're sitting around waiting for the next challenge, there are still things you can do to prepare, like make and sell items, gain more experience, empty the vault.  And you know you can move forward, because you've already made it to this level...  you know what to expect.  Even if you're not quite sure which direction the next level will take you.
But those buildings are so enticing!  And there are so many of them.  And it seems to take so long to get to the next level!

Tho, the more time spent actually working at things which gain coin and experience, the faster you get to the next level.

What?

The more time I spend actually working, the faster I get to the next level.  The more work I do, the more harvest I receive.  The more energy I put out, the more experience I gain.  I know which things work slowly and which work quickly to put the coin in my accounts.  I know which job choices work are a 50/50 chance and which are guaranteed; which will make me happy to go to work, and which ones are worth the pay check, and which ones I'll just resent.  The Harvest I have received so far from all the past levels of playing the game which is my life is more than the income, it is the knowledge and the experience.  I have tried things.  I enjoy some things and, no matter how much I might want it to be otherwise, I despise other things.  So it is.

The moral of this blog is, again, to trust myself.  If I can't seem to get to the sparkling diamond in the distance, maybe it's because there's still more work and prep and concentration needed here.  And the more energy I place here, the more quickly my options will expand.  And the more quickly my options expand, the sooner I will get to that sparkling diamond, to find out if it's something I even really want.

In other words, Lila, get back to work!

Looks like some decisions are being made today. Review your needs, your wants, your dreams, so when it comes time to give your answer, you can speak with your Truth.
I hope you have a great day!

Yay!  More production from actions taken in the past!  And also a reminder.  Our actions today create harvest for the future.

*****
It's been a week, so I can't say I remember everything that was harvested.  But here is the thought that strikes me now, that has been relevant through the last week.

Every action, every thought, every single decision brings a harvest of consequences.  And we train ourselves and others with those actions and reactions.

For one example, we set up an appointment to view an apartment.  There was a choice of Sunday or Monday to view.  I chose Sunday because I factored in past behaviors & preferences like time getting off of work, how we drive, weekend versus weekday traffic.  The weather may not be optimal, but it's a good thing to know also - what the drive is like in uncertain weather.  All of these decisions are harvests from past actions.  Learning experiences.

Every single day we do and try and we file away all the feelings and responses we receive from our six senses to create a harvest for the next time we do and try.  It is not just others we receive harvest from, it is ourselves.  How do we treat ourselves if something we don't like happens?  How do we reward ourselves and for what?  What little things do we do that we think are being strong, and are really just punishing?  what other things do we do simply because they make us happy?

Another example, in my case, is back to the food and health thing.  Because we watch tv while we eat dinner, eating is a natural act while watching television.  So when I wake up and realize I've eaten too much, I have to look back not at the meals, but at the things I've consumed because by body thinks I'm hungry when I watch tv.

Every action brings a harvest of consequences.  this is good to know, because it means I am totally in control.

Today is a day to step back and view the bigger picture; how can you balance your truths with the truths of another - be it another person, or you from another time?

I hope you have a great day!

111913 - Jera & Mannaz

A good day to practice balance between spiritual & physical, as more harvest comes in.  Celebrate with moderation, and allow this harvest to propel you further along your path, instead of into old habits.

*****************

Today, many things happened that could be considered the effects of previous causes, but I would say the main example of harvest today, for me, was a surplus of energy.

It has, for me, been a very hard working year.  A lot of energy has been used for myself personally, for situations around me, for others.  Energy being what it is, it's not always easy to pinpoint exactly where we're using it or how effective the use is.

But it is becoming obvious (to me) that I do not need to be expending as much energy these days as I used to.  So I find myself, suddenly, with an excess.

With this energy comes a buoyant feeling of good will, exuberance, joy, bubbles!  Which is very nice.  Certainly a lighter weight than I have been feeling.  Sadly, the extra energy can sometimes create a wave of erratic, possibly manic, behavior.  For example, exuberance when driving can turn to frustration, and then a desire to play monster truck with the people in the left hand lane who are going ten miles under the speed limit!

(inhale.  exhale.  move on.)

I did not like the way I was feeling when I arrived home.  And that, that is not a harvest I desire.

Happily, some of my other skills, things I have been practicing, kicked into gear.  I took a deep breath, stepped back, accepted my behavior and moved on.

For me, moving on meant first, to be productive.  And then, to do some energy work to heal any harm that might have been done.  And when my brain just couldn't operate anymore, I did turn to old habits of eating and watching movies.

Happily, my other major harvest for the year is you.  Because of you, I examined my day again, prepared to flog myself publicly for my terrible actions ( being energetic and a little too gleeful; mentally blowing up vehicles, turning to old habits)  Since fail isn't in my vocabulary, I was trying to find ways to say I'd failed without actually using the word.

But there was no failure.  There was only the same thing there is every day.  Choices were made.  Results were accepted.  And I am here, at the end of the day, feeling happy, because of you.

I now know I need to work on my awareness of how much energy is flowing versus how much I am using.  No sense lighting my votive candle with a dragon -- oh, it could be fun, (insert evil laugh here)  but it'll probably be messy; and it will effect people who had nothing to do with either candle or dragon.  Or even the desire to have light.

And I know I still turn to food and mindlessness for escape.  But since I had celery & peanut butter instead of cake & frosting, I am going to give myself a star.

And I know I still have a tendency to focus on the problem side of the issue.  But, I also have you, to whom I must admit my progress as well as my recurring weaknesses.

So thank you, You.  For being part of my harvest.  And helping me replace old unhappy habits with new, happy ones.

I hope you have a great day!

Yay!  Today we havest!  We receive the benefits, reap the rewards, pluck the fruits of our labors.  A taste of the bounty to come.  Celebrate yourself and all your hard word!

*****

And what did this mean for me today?  This morning, it was a high flying sensation.  A perfect morning of doing a little of everything in my repertoire: reading, rithmatic and ruminating.  Even a little riting advice.

But it feels like I forgot, by the end of the day, to celebrate the harvest.  I only pined for more.  Looking back on what I had.

It's an easy trap to fall into, to feel good and then retreat; to focus on the resting phase like it's a low point.  And to actively look for all the things that could prevent more good days.  Like we're only allowed one?  Never.  Never!  More and more and more.  Today was just a taste of the bounty; a taste of the harvest.  Like testing the fruit to make sure it's going to be ripe.  And I do want more.  I want many more mornings like this morning.  But I want even more than that.  I want days.  I want evenings.  I want weeks and months and years.  I want it all.  Even the resting phases.  I will practice the resting phases as I practiced the skills that give me my bounty.  And eventually, even resting will be a celebration.

I hope you have a great day!
